Shouldn't that be a law by now?

It is 2011, and let's be honest, the government pretty much controls everything now. (Well not really but that intro just makes this post sound better.)

How is it possible that they haven't made a law stating that you CANNOT smoke inside a car if there is a minor i.e.baby, in the car.

Does this not make anyone else livid?

It sets me off immediately when I see a poor baby strapped in a car seat in the back of a car when mom/grandma/baby-daddy is in the front seat puffing away. It REALLY gets me going when they don't even have the window so much as cracked.

Just for the record if I haven't made myself clear...I HATE YOU PEOPLE WHO DO THAT TO YOUR POOR INNOCENT CHILDREN WHO HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO SIT THERE AND HAVE TO INHALE THE POISON YOU ARE PUTTING IN THEIR LUNGS.

Where I live it is law that you cannot smoke inside any public building at all. Not bars, restaurants, casino's, nothing. It is law that you cannot speed. It is even law that your child must be in car seat. But how is it not law that you cannot smoke in the car if you are transporting minors???

This baffles my mind.

it is law here in Australia..i have no idea if its ever policed, but they made it a law last year..this year they are making shops that sell cigs keep them off display to try and stop people starting up..to me though, if the govt was serious about peoples health, rather than putting up the price, hiding them and banning them from just about everywhere, they would just ban them..those who are already addicted can get them via prescription from the doctor, who would also try to encourage them to quit..but they govt makes too much money to actually ban them.

I believe it is a law in California, mind you that I still see parents driving with their kids in the car and smoking away, so its not an enforced law yet. But it will probably be soon, that is when they are done ticketing you for talking on your cell phone an driving.

I've never even thought about that before. You can't smoke in public places but you can smoke with you baby in the car. That is pretty much absurd.

I HATE that too! It's so unfair to those poor children. I hate seeing them be smoked around, period! But in the car baking in that poison is even worse. I will never do that to my son! I used to smoke but will never pick up the habit again. Some parents just don't care I suppose. To them their babies are probably burdens anyways

I hate that too! It would also irritate me so bad when I was pregnant, and I had to practically run past all the smokers standing right outside the stores' doors. I wanted to be like MOVE!!
